The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to River Hill Road near Enoree at 9:47 Saturday night when a woman called and reported concern about her son outside showing out with gunfire. Nine rounds of fire and two unspent rounds were reportedly recovered from that and an adjoining yard. 51-year-old Mark Fitzgerold Hunter of 155 Riverhill Road, Enoree was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of Attempted Murder, with Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
Sheriff’s Corporal Farrah Cook states that on March 28th 2015 Mark Fitzgerold Hunter shot 9 shotgun rounds and 2 rifle rounds into the home of his mother, which could have killed her, and that his 13-year-old son was also inside, and could also have been killed. A warrant states that Hunter is a felon convicted of a violent crime and that he was in possession of two firearms and ammunition Saturday. Corporal Cook states that Hunter was in possession of marijuana with intent to distribute on March 28th.
Bond was denied on all five charges. Mark Fitzgerold Hunter of Enoree remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
