A 911 hang-up call dispatched Laurens Police to a Spring Street apartment at 1:31 this morning. Officer James Woody located a woman at the scene who indicated her boyfriend had just run out the back door, and notified other officers that a Domestic Violence Suspect had left that location on foot. The woman indicated that the father of her two children had been drinking. She said as she was returning from a visit to her cousin he tried to lock her out of her apartment. When she started calling 911 he grabbed the phone from her arm, then he twisted her arm and stepped on it. Officer Woody noted he detected a footprint on the woman’s arm. She said the boyfriend tried to keep her from getting to the door to flag down the police officer, but when he saw the police car stop he fled from the back door. Charges of Criminal Domestic Violence were to be sought for the suspect.
