A Union man was arrested yesterday on charges from an attempted purchase in Laurens last month. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday charged 26-year-old Andrew Wallace Ivey of 109 Wedgewood Court, Union with Attempt to Possess Unlawful Substance. A warrant states that on April 1st at Wal-Mart Andrew Wallace Ivey attempted to obtain a quantity of nonprescription ephedrine/pseudoephedrine products totaling more than 9 grams in a 30 day period. State Probation and Parole also have a warrant, charging Mr. Ivey with Violation of Probation. It alleges he changed his address to an unknown location, thereby absconding supervision, that he didn’t maintain lawful employment, didn’t pay fees as instructed and that he didn’t follow the advice of his agent. Andrew Wallace Ivey of Union was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment today.
Clinton Public Safety arrested a local woman Tuesday and charged her with Attempt to Possess a Controlled Substance this past Sunday. 31-year-old Brandy Ann Craine of 301 Elizabeth Street is accused of attempting to purchase 3.8 grams of an Ephedrine product on April 17th, which would have totaled more than 9 grams within a 30-day period. Ms. Craine was released from City Jail yesterday on a $500 personal recognizance bond.
