The Laurens County Library announced earlier this week that their “Food for Fines” has been extended through this week at the Laurens and Clinton Libraries. People with fines for overdue books can have that fine waived with donation of a can of non-perishable food. One or more containers of food will cover the fine for one person. If you have children with overdue books, as well, separate donations of food are required for them. The food received in the annual “Food for Fines” event is donated to food banks in Clinton and Laurens. The extension of the program ends after regular Saturday hours tomorrow at the Laurens County Library on West Main in Laurens and the Clinton Public Library on Jacobs Highway.
