The City and County of Laurens are in the process of swapping parking lots. At last night’s Laurens County Council meeting, council unanimously approved a request from the City of Laurens for the transfer. County Ordinance 809 allows for the exchange of the county-owned parking lot at the corner of Laurens and Caroline Streets, just west of the square, with city-owned land now used for parking at the county 911 Dispatch Center. That property is between South Harper, Hance and Sullivan Streets and the Carolina-Piedmont railroad tracks. That parking lot is used for county employees.
